The AAD discusses endermologie as an example, while noting inconsistent cellulite research. Mechanical action does not automatically mean destruction of fat cells or permanent disappearance of cellulite.

Source: AAD: Cellulite treatments, what really works

What does a small study show?

A study of 33 women reported circumference changes, but cellulite appearance improved in only five participants. The absence of a control group and small sample limit causal conclusions.
